Personalised all terrain Mountain Trike wheelchair for global trials rider, Martyn Ashton

Martyn Ashton, former British and World Champion mountain bike trials rider, who was paralysed following an accident in 2013, during a bike trials demo at the British Moto GP has become the proud owner of a Mountain Trike all terrain wheelchair.  The Mountain Trike, which was designed by Tim Morgan, who has a passion for downhill mountain biking, came up with the idea as his final year project when he saw a gap in the market for off road wheelchairs. The Mountain Trike all terrain wheelchairs are capable to travel over any terrain and uses many components to that of a mountain bike. The unique lever drive system allows the rider to power the chair forward leaving the user with clean, dry hands. Mountain Trike all terrain wheelchair company attend annual National Trust festival

Over the past few years we have been growing our relationship with the National Trust.  Back in 2014/2015 we had open discussions with the National Trust about access and developments were made with our MT Push all terrain attendant wheelchair.  The National Trust could see the benefit of having all terrain wheelchairs at some of their properties so the outdoor space and beautiful gardens can be enjoyed by all – and the MT Push was the perfect vehicle to do this. We’re delighted that fleets of our all terrain wheelchair products are available for visitors to use at a number of National Trust properties throughout the UK – and hopefully more sites will offer these in the future. MT Push attendant wheelchair now available at National Trust Claremont Landscape Garden in Esher, Surrey

Following the success of our MT Push all terrain attendant wheelchairs being available at a number of National Trust gardens throughout the UK, we are delighted to announce that another National Trust site will have a MT Push available for visitor use. The MT Push all terrain attendant wheelchair has been designed to travel over uneven ground in comfort and safety.  The steering and braking takes places by the riders buddy which is located in the push handle behind the rider, hydraulic brakes and air suspension provides a safe and comfortable ride. Feedback from both riders and their buddies have all been extremely positive – everyone saying how easy the chair is to manoeuvre and that the countryside has been opened up for them.
