Julie Sawchuk, Mountain Trike

Canadian Mountain Trike wheelchair customer, Julie talks about living with paralysis

Julie Sawchuk keeps active thanks to her Mountain Trike Julie Sawchuk from Canada, lived a very active life – for two and a half years she trained as a triathlete – swim-bike-run.  She worked as a high school biology teacher and enjoyed the outdoor life with her husband and two young children. In July 2015 her life changed forever – she was out training on her bike when she was hit by a car. She suffered severe injuries and damage to multiple systems – fractured skull, shattered T4 and burst L1 vertebrae, broken ribs, nose – to name a few. David’s three peaks challenge fund raiser using Mountain Trike wheelchair

David is one of our incredible customers who has set himself the challenge to take on the Yorkshire Dales three peaks challenge to raise funds for LOROS and the Leicestershire & Rutland Motor Neurone Disease Association.  David was diagnosed with MND in 2014 and he’s not letting it get in the way of his active lifestyle.  His Mountain Trike has helped him to continue to live independently and without it he wouldn’t be able to contemplate a challenge of this nature.  Read his full story on our blog here and he is also featured in the August 2017 issue of Enable magazine.
